What we collect, why we collect it and what we do with it when you contact The Emergency Electricians. We only ask for what we need to help you, and we never sell your details.
Who we are
The Emergency Electricians provides 24/7 emergency electrical callouts across Greater Manchester and Cheshire East. We are the emergency arm of Mister Electrics. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean The Emergency Electricians. We are the data controller for the personal information described below.
The information we collect
- Your name and contact details, such as your phone number and postcode.
- Details of the problem and any message, photo or video you send us.
- The address where the work is needed, once we arrange a visit.
How we use it
To call you back, arrange and carry out the work, keep a record of the job and respond if you contact us afterwards. We do not send marketing unless you have asked us to.
Our callback form
When you send a callback request, the details are delivered to us through Netlify, the service that hosts this site. Netlify processes the submission on our behalf. We use it only to call you back.
The postcode checker
If you use the arrival-time checker, the postcode you type is sent to postcodes.io, a free public service run by Ideal Postcodes, to look up its location. It is not stored by us or linked to you.
WhatsApp and phone
If you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp’s own privacy policy applies to the message in transit. We keep photos and messages only as long as they are useful for the job.
Our legal basis
We rely on legitimate interests to respond to your enquiry and run our business, and on the performance of a contract when we carry out work you have asked for. Where the law requires it, such as for marketing, we rely on your consent.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the electricians and staff who need it to do the job, with Mister Electrics where a job is better handled as planned work, and with providers who help us run the business, such as our website host. We may also share information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it
Job records are kept as long as we are required to for tax, insurance and safety reasons. Enquiries that do not lead to work are removed once they are no longer needed.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your information, have it corrected or deleted, object to how we use it and ask us to restrict its use. To make a request, call us on 07703 295654 or use our contact form.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
